The Courses
Pantomime, Facial Acting, Acting Pro and Action Pro: find the course for you!
Each course has a duration of 11 weeks, 22 meetings (22 live meetings or 11 live meetings + 11 recorded reviews depending on the instructor time zone) divided between theory and reviews, supported by a vast library of demo, slides, and tutorials always available to you.
These courses are not for beginners! Students must already master the principles of animation, the basics of body locomotion, and body mechanics.
Prior to acceptance in the animation program, students must provide the School with a reel demonstrating the prerequisite skills needed to be successful in our courses.
PANTOMIME
In this course, we will talk about acting. To animate means to give life to what has no "soul". We will analyze how the characters' acting choices affect the perception of their intentions and feelings. We will focus on pantomime, the technique of transmitting emotions through actions and gestures without using the word. You will be able to practice building clear and interesting poses, using characters with a simple facial rig, to create your own shot.
FACIAL ACTING
This course focuses on facial animation and lip-sync. On the one hand, we will focus on the acting choices of our character, on the other hand, we will study the practical techniques to pose and animate the face. For the first time, you will animate a complex character, such as those used by the studios. We will study the behavior and interactions between the different facial elements to better communicate the emotions of the character, even the most subtle. Using an audio track of your choice, you will be guided in the creation of a monologue.
7. ACTION PRO
“Pro” stands for professional. Like in a studio environment, you will relate to your “supervisor-like” instructor to create your spectacular action shot. We will teach you to master the dynamics of movement and have full awareness of the interaction between the various parts of the body. Nothing will be left to chance, through continuous revisions we will push your work to the highest quality, favoring the creation of material that you can use for your animation reel.
8. ACTING PRO
Animate like a "Pro". Here wee will recreate the same working dynamics of the studios. Through a continuous review of your shot by our senior animators, you will give that extra edge to your animation to make it truly unique. Being a professional animator means being aware of your acting choices in order to best express the emotion that the character feels at that moment. We will pay attention to even the smallest of details, to polish your shot to insert in your showreel.
