Choose the right audio for your acting shot
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT AUDIO FOR YOUR ACTING SHOT:
LENGHT: 6 to 10 Seconds
CHANGE OF ENERY: the dialogue should have a change of energy level. It is often a good thing to showcase a character moving from one feeling to another, from one level of intensity to another. Your character can be calm and then mad, or happy to surprised, sad to excited, and so on.
COMUNICATION LAYERS: One thing is what is your character saying, one thing is what is your character doing. The way your character act can comunicate different intentions from what is your character actually saying. You can have someone talking calmly but sitting in a tense rigid pose with fist closed hands, communicating that he is actually not calm but holding frustration inside. This is the difference between VERBAL and NON VERBAL communication. Find a dialogue where your character has layers, one thing is what he says and the other is what he is feeling. The non verbal communication often showcases the true intentions of your character. So think of how is your character relating to the surrounding environment, how is he handling props, play with the layers of the character`s personality.
CAMERAS: Think of a simple STILL camera, we are going to animate through that camera and we want the performance of your character to be clear.
SHOTS: We aim for quality not quantity. The numbers of shot that you are going to create depends on many factors. We will start with one shot and then, based on your progess, we will suggest you when you can move on the the next one or keep refining the first one.
