About us
Three animators, one school.
Vivo Animation School began as an idea of Silvia Capitta, Simone Brundisini and Alessandro Mattei, three character animators with experience on major international film productions.
After years of work at studios such as Sony Pictures Imageworks, Industrial Light & Magic, Animal Logic, MPC, Cinesite, Jellyfish Pictures and Illumination, we decided to build the school we would have wanted to study at: training given entirely to character animation, with small classes, live lessons and a direct relationship with professionals who know this craft from the inside.

Our story
Built around the way the job is actually done.
We studied animation at Italian and international schools and built our careers between Italy, Canada, Australia and France. Among the best-known films we have worked on: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Lilo & Stitch, Transformers One, Aquaman, Despicable Me 4 and Minions 3, along with productions such as Smallfoot, Over the Moon, Peter Rabbit 2 and Hotel Transylvania: Transformania.
Along the way we learned how specific a discipline character animation is: not simply knowing a piece of software or moving a character, but understanding its intentions, rhythm, acting and personality.
Vivo Animation School came out of that experience.
We wanted a path devoted exclusively to animating characters, built around the way this craft is really practised in production. Not a general computer-graphics course with a few animation lessons, but a school where you can study character animation from the basics up to the most complex shots.
That is why we chose to work with classes of two to five students, live lessons and individual reviews of each student's work. The instructor can get to know every student, follow their progress and work directly on their shots, while keeping the exchange and the learning that come from working in a small class.
Over the years Vivo has grown together with its students. Today the three founders are joined by a team of more than twenty professionals — character animators working on major international productions — who keep to the principle the school was founded on: teaching animation through the direct experience of people who really know the job.
Meet all the instructorsVivo in person
Online, but not only.
Vivo is an online school, but being an Italian school also gives us the chance to meet in person. And whenever we can, we take it — at an animation festival, for instance. In 2025 several Vivo students were at Annecy, the most important animation festival in the world, for the screenings and, some of them, for job interviews at MIFA, the festival's professional market. We have met students and former students elsewhere too, in Turin and Rome among other places. None of this is part of the course, but it matters to us: our network does not end with the last online class.

Every enrolment starts with a call.
Before you enrol we hold a one-to-one call online with one of the founders. It is free and without obligation: a chance to get to know each other, see where you are starting from, talk about your goals and find the course that fits your level.
