Working animators, in class
Animation professionals, straight into the classroom.
More than twenty character animators, lead animators, animation supervisors and animation directors with experience on major international productions for film, animated series and VFX. In class they bring the workflow they use every day and a review method built on production, not on theory.
The founders
Vivo grew out of the paths of three Italian character animators who met while working abroad.
Character Animator · co-founder
He has animated in feature animation for more than ten years, between Sony Pictures Imageworks and Illumination. He worked on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Smallfoot, The Willoughbys, Over the Moon, Vivo, Despicable Me 4 and Minions & Monsters. He has taught animation for just as long: first at Vancouver Film School and LaSalle College, now at Vivo.
Character Animator · co-founder
Her path runs through animation and VFX: after the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia she animated at Sony Pictures Imageworks, MPC, Cinesite, Animal Logic and Industrial Light & Magic. Her films include Aquaman, Smallfoot, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Artemis Fowl, Peter Rabbit 2, Riverdance, Spirit Untamed, The Magician's Elephant, Transformers One and Lilo & Stitch.
Character Animator · co-founder
A character animator across feature animation and VFX, he has worked at Sony Pictures Imageworks, MPC, Cinesite, Animal Logic and Industrial Light & Magic. His credits include Aquaman, Smallfoot, Artemis Fowl, Peter Rabbit 2, Riverdance, The Magician's Elephant, Transformers One, Lilo & Stitch and Moana. His graduation short, The Age of Rust, won several awards.
The teaching staff
Every course is taught by a working character animator, in classes of two to five students with an individual review on every hand-in. The group changes from term to term, depending on the projects each of them is on.
Character Animator · Lead Animator
Ten years across series and feature animation, with lead and supervising animator roles. She animated on The Amazing Maurice, Under the Boardwalk, Nimona, The Bad Guys 2, In Your Dreams and GOAT, by way of TeamTO, Red Star 3D, DNEG and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
Character Animator · Lead Animator
He came to 3D from traditional animation, and brought that method with him: on The Willoughbys he was one of the lead animators, following a group of animators and some of the characters from start to finish. He has also worked on Henchmen, Over the Moon, Vivo and Trolls Band Together, at Bron Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks, after years of animation supervision on television series for Hasbro and Teletoon.
Character Animator
Animated series, game cinematics and teaching: he worked on All Hail King Julien and The Dragon Prince and on projects such as Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath and Destiny 2. For years he has combined production with training animators.
Senior Character Animator
He has moved between animation and VFX for fifteen years: Dumbo, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Peter Rabbit 2, Mortal Kombat, The Tomorrow War, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, The Magician's Elephant and Mortal Kombat II.
Character Animator
A character animator and director, he has worked at Rainbow CGI, TeamTO and Outfit7, animating series such as Talking Tom & Friends, Winx Club and Calimero, and the Minions shorts Yellow Is the New Black and Minion Scouts. Alongside production he has made shorts and independent projects as a director-animator.
Senior Character Animator
She started in games, at Ubisoft and Rocksteady, and moved from there to feature animation: UglyDolls, Back to the Outback, Rumble, The Sea Beast, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Moana 2 and Zootopia 2, between Reel FX, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Character Animator · Lead Animator
From television to feature animation in a few years, with roles of responsibility: on That Christmas she was lead animator. She also worked on Spirit Untamed, Under the Boardwalk, Nimona and How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming.
Senior Character Animator
A character animator with international experience in feature animation, trained at Rainbow Academy. She has worked as a senior animator on animated features for the international market, most recently Swapped and Brad Bird's Ray Gunn.

Three years of animated series between France and the UK, then feature animation: Ron's Gone Wrong, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, Under the Boardwalk, Nimona, That Christmas and Dog Man, with DNEG, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Jellyfish Pictures.

He built his career between London and Australia, through Jellyfish Pictures, Framestore, MPC, Animal Logic, Method Studios and Industrial Light & Magic. His films include The Lion King, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Peter Rabbit 2, Mortal Kombat, The Tomorrow War, The Magician's Elephant, Haunted Mansion, Transformers One, Wicked, Lilo & Stitch and Moana.

She has animated since 2006 and her filmography spans twenty years of cinema: Wonder Woman, Justice League, Avengers: Infinity War, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Lady and the Tramp, Wonder Woman 1984, Mortal Kombat, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan & Wendy and Black Mirror, between DNEG, Industrial Light & Magic, Framestore and Ingenuity Studios.
Character Animator
Feature films, series, advertising and cinematics, between Italy, France, Luxembourg, China and Vietnam. At Illumination he animated on The Secret Life of Pets 2, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Character Animator
She came into the industry from an online course and within three years was in London, at Jellyfish Pictures. Today she animates in feature animation: Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, The Sea Beast, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and In Your Dreams.
Senior Character Animator
Four years at Illumination in Paris, on Minions: The Rise of Gru, Sing 2, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Migration; then Night of the Zoopocalypse and, as lead animator, the series Stranger Things: Tales from '85. He has taught character animation since 2023, including at Gobelins.
Character Animator · mentor at Vivo
From French and Belgian series — The Queen's Corgi, Bigfoot Family — to Illumination features: Minions: The Rise of Gru, Sing 2, Migration and Despicable Me 4. At Vivo he also follows students as a mentor.
Senior Character Animator · Lead Animator · Animation Supervisor
He started his career in London, at Framestore, then moved to the United States to work at Rhythm & Hues, Sony Pictures Imageworks and The Third Floor, and to Australia for features at Animal Logic. His credits include Hotel Transylvania, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man and Arthur Christmas. Over a long career he has held lead animator and animation supervisor roles, and has taught and mentored animators for years.
Character Animator
From television at TeamTO to feature animation at Jellyfish Pictures, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Walt Disney Animation Studios. He animated on Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Moana 2 and Zootopia 2.
Animation Director · director
Animation director and director, as well as character animator. As animation director he worked on Vampirina, which earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination for directing in 2018, and on the Marvel series What If…?. His animator credits also include Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Senior Character Animator
He animates at Illumination in Paris and has worked on The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the Despicable Me saga, Migration and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, after years of series at TeamTO. He also teaches character animation outside Vivo.
Lead Animator · Animation Supervisor
He leads teams of animators on feature films: animation lead on PAW Patrol: The Movie and animation supervisor on PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie at Mikros. He has also worked on Captain Underpants, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Nimona, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Under the Boardwalk. He also teaches animation at ESMA in Montréal.
Senior Character Animator
He has animated feature films since 2009 at Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he worked on Storks, Smallfoot, the two Angry Birds films, Over the Moon, The Mitchells vs. the Machines, Vivo, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, KPop Demon Hunters, In Your Dreams and GOAT.

Before every enrolment we hold a one-to-one call online with one of the founders. It is free, takes about thirty minutes, and is there to work out where you are starting from, what you want to achieve and which course makes sense for you. It is not a selection test.
